1960 Manchester, Connecticut. A kind of a genius girl singer.
14year old Girl pop singer. AKA Jeri Lynn (Bigtop)
Beach pop "Answer" record or sequel to
the Brian Hyland novelty hit of
"Itsy Bitsy Teeny Weeny Yellow Polkadot Bikini".
They wrote The Crests "If My Heart Could Write A Letter"
in 1960.
Written by Fred Weismantel-Bob Schell.
Flip Written by Sid Tepper-Roy C. Bennett.
Tepper & Bennett wrote 45 compositions for Elvis' albums
and movies, and is quite possibly their greatest legacy to
the world of music.
Jeri Lynne Fraser married singer Curtis ('Angel Eyes') Lee
when they were both very young, against her mother's wishes.
The marriage never lasted.
"Catch Me" was the first of two of her songs covered in the UK
by Cliff Richard who did a much better version on
his UK album I'm 21 Today.
Performed exquisitely by the multi-talented young girl
from Manchester, CT who released several outstanding records
from 1960 thru 1963. As fate would have it, none of
her great singles were hits except in and around
the New England area...
Now they have become sought after, and music collectors
have come to realize what an enormous talent she was!
(Still is! She sings at The Villages in Florida now for
an appreciative, but older audience)
