①は、この時点でお蔵入りした22作目のアルバム[Stone Of Sisyphud]からの新曲２曲を含む日本独自のベスト盤の一枚。

1971年12月に日本でのみシングル発売となった「クエスチョン67＆68」と「ロウダウン」の日本語ヴァージョン。前者は片桐和子氏で後者は北山修氏の作詞(訳詞)。前者は、1995年12月の日本公演でジェイソン・ジェフの日本語ヴォーカルでも再演されました。

そして極め付きは1979年発表の[Chicago 13]に収録されていたピーター・セテラの歌う「Street Player」の長尺ダンス・リミックス・ヴァージョン(8:44)。フルヴァージョンとしての国内盤登場はこの盤が初出となります。グループとしてはこの頃は低迷期ですが、本テイクのピーター・セテラのヴォーカルは逸品です。

②は、

デヴィッド・フォスターとの3部作[16][17][18]発表後、フォスターと決別した1988年作[19]では、新たなプロデューサーにチャス・サンフォードとロン・ネヴィソンをを迎えた作品。その人選通りロック色が強りましたが、ダイアン・ウォーレン作「ルック・アウェイ」が全米首位に立ったように、世間ではバラードのシカゴというイメージが重さを増してきます。「リヴ・ウィズアウト・ユア・ラヴ」(全米3位)、「ルック・アウェイ」(全米1位)、「ホワット・カインド・オブ・マン」(全米5位)、「ユー・アー・ノット・アローン」(全米10位)を収録した通算19作目。6曲目と9曲目では女性モデルを使った非常に完成度の高いMV(PV)も作られMTVを彩りました。

[Free shipping] We are offering two CDs of the American brass rock band "Chicago" that has been around for over 50 years. Not a rental copy.

① is a best-of album exclusive to Japan, including two new songs from their 22nd album [Stone Of Sisyphud], which was shelved at this point.

The Japanese versions of "Question 67 & 68" and "Lowdown," which were released as singles only in Japan in December 1971. The former was written (translated) by Kazuko Katagiri and the latter by Osamu Kitayama. The former was performed again with Japanese vocals by Jason Jeff at their Japan concert in December 1995.

And the best part is the long dance remix version (8:44) of "Street Player" sung by Peter Cetera, which was included on [Chicago 13] released in 1979. This is the first time the full version has been released in Japan. The group was in a slump at this time, but Peter Cetera's vocals on this take are outstanding.

② is a 1988 album[19], released after parting ways with David Foster after releasing the trilogy[16][17][18]. Chas Sanford and Ron Nevison were the new producers. As expected, the album had a stronger rock feel, but as Diane Warren's "Look Away" reached the top of the US charts, Chicago's image as a ballad band became more prominent in the public eye. This is the 19th album, featuring "Live Without Your Love" (#3 in the US), "Look Away" (#1 in the US), "What Kind of Man" (#5 in the US), and "You Are Not Alone" (#10 in the US). The 6th and 9th tracks also had highly polished music videos (PVs) featuring female models, which made an impact on MTV.
