1959年に飛行機事故で他界した白人ロックンローラーバディ・ホリーが生前に残した3枚のアルバムの中の1st[The‘Chirping’Crickets / THE CRICKETS](1957年作品)と2nd[BUDDY HOLLY / Buddy Holly](1958年作品)の2作品を1枚にした<2in1>CD。バディ・ホリーのヒット曲が殆ど網羅されており、後にビートルズがカヴァーする「WORDS OF LOVE」「MAILMAN BRING ME NO MORE BLUES」、リンダ・ロンシュタットが再ヒットさせる「THAT ‘LL BE THE DAY」などが収録。また1986年に公開されたF.F.コッポラ監督の「ペギー・スーの結婚」という映画がありますが、これも収録曲の「PEGGY SUE」からインスパイアされたもの。もちろん主題歌はバディ・ホリー。

ロックンロールの神様(?)と呼べる二人の黒人ロッカー(そしてソングライター)の代表曲を8曲づつ収録した廉価盤シリーズ。この3人とエルヴィスがいた故に‘ビートルズ’が誕生したと言ってもいいでしょう。

This is a <2in1> CD that combines the first [The 'Chirping' Crickets / THE CRICKETS] (1957) and the second [BUDDY HOLLY / Buddy Holly] (1958) of the three albums left by the white rock'n'roller Buddy Holly, who died in a plane crash in 1959, into one album. This album contains almost all of Buddy Holly's hits, including "Words of Love" and "Mailman Bring Me No More Blues," which were later covered by The Beatles, and "That'll Be the Day," which Linda Ronstadt remade into a hit. In 1986, there was a movie called "Peggy Sue Got Married," directed by F.F. Coppola, which was also inspired by the song "Peggy Sue." Of course, the theme song was by Buddy Holly.

② is a budget series that contains eight representative songs by two black rockers (and songwriters) who can be called the gods of rock and roll. It can be said that the Beatles were born because of these three and Elvis.
