①は、
<デビュー40周年記念>としてリリースされたタイガースの現役時代そして解散後のメンバーのリリースしたシングルが収録されています。タイガースとPYGが14曲と大半を占めていますが、<シローとブレッド＆バター>のシングルA面が2曲、森本太郎が解散後結成した<タローとアルファベッツ><森本太郎とスーパースター>名義のシングルA面が4曲とこのCDでしか聴けないレアな曲も収録されています。欲を言えば、72年の故・岸部シローの単独シングル「ポケナン・ポケタン・ポケット/東口広場」や⑱のB面曲で森本太郎作曲の「恋人のできる頃」も収録して欲しかったです。⑯「バタフライ」は、フランスのダニエル・ジュラールのカヴァーですが本家のヒットもありラジオで度々流れていました。
②は、
2000年に発売となった[THE TIGERS PERFECT CD BOX /CD12枚組]に入らなかった音源をシリーズ化した[RARE ＆ MORE COLLECTION]の第三弾でタイアップしていた明治製菓のソノシートを中心に構成された2枚組CDです。目玉は何と言っても③の「あわて者のサンタ」でこの曲はビートルズのクリスマス・レコードに触発されて(?)1969年のクリスマス・レコードとしてファンクラブ向けに送られたもので作詞;瞳みのる作曲;森本太郎というオリジナル曲(画像8)。また⑥曲目の「明治チョコレート ザ・タイガースの歌」は先のBOXに収録された5曲をメドレーでTV用に演奏した超レア音源です。但し、このCDには明治チョコレートTVCMで頻繁に流れた「君は今どこにいるの、赤い色の好きな君は、君に真っ赤なココナッツを～♪」という故すぎやまこういち氏の名曲(曲目不明)やこちらもすぎやま氏のペンによる「ティーンルックのテーマ」も収録されていないのが悔やまれます。RARE ＆ MOREシリーズのラストを飾る本作をもってザ・タイガースの公式発表のほぼ全音源が整理されたということになります。

This listing is for two sets (3 CDs) of music related to The Tigers, a leading group in the Group Sounds (GS) genre. These are not ex-rental items. Both have been listened to approximately twice.

Track ①, released to commemorate the 40th anniversary of The Tigers' debut, contains singles released by members both during their active years and after their breakup. While The Tigers and PYG make up the majority with 14 tracks, it also includes two A-sides from singles by <Shiro and Bread & Butter>, and four A-sides from singles under the names <Taro and Alphabets> and <Morimoto Taro and Superstar>, formed by Morimoto Taro after the band's breakup—rare tracks only found on this CD. Ideally, I would have liked to see the late Kishibe Shiro's 1972 solo single "Pokenan Poketan Pocket/Higashiguchi Hiroba" and the B-side track from track ⑱, "Koibito no Dekiru Koro," composed by Morimoto Taro, also included. Track ⑯, "Butterfly," is a cover of a song by Daniel Grard from France, and was frequently played on the radio due to the original's success.
② is a two-disc CD set that mainly consists of Meiji Seika flexi discs, which were used in a tie-in with the band. It is the third installment of the [RARE & MORE COLLECTION] series, which features recordings that were not included in the [THE TIGERS PERFECT CD BOX / 12-CD set] released in 2000. The highlight is undoubtedly ③, "Awkward Santa," an original song that was sent to the fan club as a Christmas record in 1969, inspired by the Beatles' Christmas record (?), with lyrics by Minoru Hitomi and music by Taro Morimoto. Also, track ⑥, "Meiji Chocolate The Tigers' Song," is an extremely rare recording of a medley of the five songs included in the aforementioned box set, performed for television. However, it's regrettable that this CD doesn't include the late Koichi Sugiyama's famous song (track title unknown) that was frequently used in Meiji chocolate TV commercials, "Where are you now? You love the color red, so I'll give you a bright red coconut~♪," or "Teen Look Theme," also written by Sugiyama. With this final release in the RARE & MORE series, almost all of The Tigers' officially released recordings have been compiled.

The discs are in good condition, but they've been stored for a long time, so please refrain from purchasing if you're particularly sensitive about condition. No claims, no returns.
